Lake Powell for Labor Day

Some friends invited us to go to Lake Powell for the Labor Day Weekend. We had a blast! Ever since I was little, Lake Powell has been one of my favorite places in the entire world! The houseboat we stayed on had a pole up on top and the
kids loved to see how high they could climb.

Of course we did a ton of tubing!

Clark really loved the wave runners. Those babies are fast!!

The boys would spend hours, searching for and catching lizards on the beach. Tyler quickness, made him the king of lizard catching. Needless to say, he got a little sun!

Zach was quite the little cliff jumper. He would jump over and over and over again.

And of course, we had to go see Rainbow Bridge.

When it was time to go home, Cooper asked me if we could live at Lake Powell. I think that means he had a lot of fun!

Back to School!

Everyone seems excited about going back to school (especially mom!)Cooper thought he was pretty cool because he gets to ride the bus and go to preschool at the elementary just like his big brothers! And mom likes it because he is out of the house for 4 hours, 4 days a week!
I think riding the bus is one of the favorite parts of going to school for the boys!
And Cooper really likes his new teacher, Miss Chris.

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!?

After weeks of practice, Tyler & Zach could hardly wait to play their first game!
This football stuff is serious business. They look just like the pro's (only smaller!)
Team motto: "Hard work, pays off!"
They thought it was pretty cool to be able to have a scrimage game on the Lehi High School football field with an announcer and everything!

Crappy blogger!

Okay, so I have been getting a lot of crap lately about not updating my blog very often. But I warned everyone that said I should start a blog, that I wouldn't be that great at it. Life with four boys is crazy as is, but add onto that summertime and a constant stream of visiting relatives and that just adds up to not a lot of free time for me. So, I apologize to the few of you that check my blog every once in a while. (Not that my life is that exciting to read about anyway!) But just know that I will get to it eventually and then I will probably have to go back and catch up on things that might have happened months ago. Sorry, that's just the way it's gonna be.

I Love Draper Days!!

Every July I still get so excited for Draper Days and especially the Draper Parade. These three just come for all the candy!
Somehow Austin even tried to sneak a piece of taffy before mom noticed and took it away.

Tyler always insists that I take his picture with all the "cool cars". He's such a car junkie!! Cooper's favorite part is getting to ride the 4-wheeler with Grandpa!

4th of July at Jordanelle

For the 4th of July we headed up the canyon to go boating with Grandma & Grandpa Nielsen.Austin & Grandpa Nielsen in the captain's chair.
The boys favorite thing was riding the "taco tube".
Overall, we had a fun & relaxing day on the lake!

Cub Scout Space Derby

Tyler couldn't wait for his first official cub scout derby.
This year it happened to be a space derby. He was so proud of his BYU spaceship that he designed and painted all by himself. Go Cougars!
First you had to wind and wind and wind (like 150 times) the propeller and then load it on the flying mechanism.
Then each boy would stand back and "pray" that theirs would go the fastest and the farthest.
All the boys did such a great job with their spaceships and had a lot of fun.

I just wanted to wish Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. I'm so grateful for all the wonderful men that I have in my life.

Our Little "Web-Man"

For those of you that don't know, our little Austin was born with a webbed finger on his left hand. The doctor suggested that we wait until he was at least 6 months old and then have surgery to seperate it. So on May 14th, 2008 we took him up to Primary Children's Hospital where he had plastic surgery and a small skin graft to fix it. He did amazingly well for such a little guy (except for having to deal with a huge cast for 3 weeks just as he was learning to roll over). And now he's doing well and everything looks good.

"Look at my cool webbed finger! My daddy says it will make me a fast swimmer!"

Austin all dressed up in his hospital duds. Daddy giving him a kiss for luck.

Just coming out of surgery. "Maybe I can bite this thing off!"

"I guess I'm just a one-armed baby now." "What the heck is this thing anyway!"
Off comes the cast, finally! All better now.

Congratulations, Clark!!

I just wanted to congratulate Clark on qualifying to play in the Utah State Amateur Golf Tournament. I think this is a pretty big deal for anyone who is a golfer in Utah. For those of you who know my husband, saying that golf is a pretty big deal to him would be an understatement!! When he's not playing golf, he is probably watching it on TV. So when all that "practice" pays off, it makes it all worth it. I do have to say, it's been really fun to watch as he starts to teach each of our boys how to play. They often go down to the driving range at Thanksgiving Point to hit balls, which gives me a little break every once in a while. Anyway, I just wanted to let him know that although I'm not always happy about how much he golfs, I think he's great! Love ya babe!
