Coloring Easter Eggs

So we decided to try a new way of coloring our easter eggs this year.
Step 1: We soaked them in vinegar
Step 2: Then we put them in a colander
Step 3: Then we added a couple drops of food coloring
Step 4: Finally, we swished them around and around. Coop thought his was the best!
Zach thought his was the coolest!
And Tyler thought his was the most amazing! Of course!
And Austin just couldn't wait to eat one - shells and all!
It was a fun new technique and they turned out pretty cool. By the end of the process they are started looking about the same. I think next year I will remember to rinse out the colander in between sessions.
Bring on the egg sandwiches!!

My Little Mess-Maker!

So this is what happens when you are busy packing to go on vacation.

Austin found a plastic bag filled with
chocolate milk mix.

He just ripped it open and went to town!

"What?"

Yum, yum!!

Are you feeling LUCKY?

So those silly leprechans turned our food GREEN again this year!
We'd have "Green Eggs and Ham" but it looks like we're missing the ham.
Even Austin thought it was funny! (Look at those goofy teeth!)
My little Green Goblins are ready for the day! There will be no pinching in this group.
The boys still look forward to having our "traditional" IRISH FEAST.
Yes, I am still making Corned Beef and Cabbage after all these years. I'm actually getting a little sick of it but the boys love it and it's kind of a tradition now. (For the record, Clark has never like it!) At least we ended things off with something a little sweet -
KEY LIME pie anyone?

For the Love of Shoes!!

I'm so excited! I am officially the newest sales rep for "My Shoe Shoppe" (formerly known as 4theloveofshoes). What job could be more fun than having access to all the latest shoe trends and then getting to go to girl parties and sell them? I can't wait. For those of you that remember, this is the same company that I had my shoe party with last fall. It was so much fun and I have been getting bugged by everyone to do another one -so when the opportunity opened to be a rep. I just couldn't pass it up. So if anyone is ever in need of a cute shoe (all $25 and under), just go to http://www.myshoeshoppe.com/ and let me know!

P.S. I will be having my first party on Thurs., March 26th at 7:00 p.m. so come and see!

Happy Love Day!

I made some fun Valentine's cookies for my boys, thanks to my neigbor, Val. Thanks Val, it was tons of fun! The boys each got their little "love package" which happened to be filled with chocolates, candy and basketball cards. Which seems to be the lastest "thing" that the boys are in to.

Grandma & Grandpa Nielsen even stopped by, like they always do, with a special Valentine for each of us! I think mine was the best - gourment carmels, yummy!!
Austin seemed to love all the balloons more than anything! :)

That night we had a special candlelight dinner with our little family. We had steak and lobster. Look the lobsters tails even made a heart! We finished it all off with the best party - ooey, gooey chocolate fondue!
YUM, YUM!!

Draper Temple Open House

We had a wonderful experience taking the boys through the new Draper Temple. Zach loved the baptismal font and the huge oxen. Tyler, like me, loved the Celestial Room and wanted to stay there forever. And Cooper just wanted to see how quickly he could make it through the tour. It is a beautiful temple and the spirit just radiates throughout.
Can't wait to go there many times in the future.

Boys's Best Friend

It was so cute when Austin finally figured out what that red string attached to his doggy was for. He had so much fun tugging his little friend all around the house.

"Just taking my little doggy on his walk.""Let's go buddy!"

He did get a little upset when his doggy would tip over or get tangled up in his legs. What a temper!

Cooper learns to ride a bike!

No amount of snow or freezing cold temperatures could have kept Cooper from learning to ride his bike without training wheels. He took a few turns in the basement and just knew he needed more space to spread his wings. As you can see from the pictures, this kid has attitude!
Yeah, I know I'm cool!
So don't mess with me!
Look at me go, Mom!
Austin & Zach even braved the cold to give their brother moral support.
Way to go, Coop!

Happy 2009!

We decided to ring in the new year with a fun, crazy-filled night at home. We had horns and noise-makers, confetti, food and tons of fun!

But I have to confess, we spent most of the night playing a never-ending game of Monopoly which took half of the next day to finish! Good times!
